We have had a very busy March and April to date with lots of different activities for all our members. Our C Test group finished their training and had a busy day doing their test, congratulations to Isabel, Molly, Michael, Halle and Niamh, and thanks to Marie, Rosemary, Anna and Ellen for all their help training and testing.
Our D/D+ rallies have started up again now that the evenings are brighter and it’s great to see our younger riders practicing their Dressage and Show-jumping with Mary in preparation for the Combined Training Festival Qualifiers.
We also had a recent fantastic hack out in Fountainstown which was a great day out for everyone, thanks to Pascale, Nicola and Billy Nicholson for a fun day out for all.
We had quite a few members competing at the Interschools Showjumping Competition in Maryville, both on their own school teams and also on 2 South Union Teams. Well done to Samantha, Daniel, Mikey and Isobel on our Primary School Team and Niamh, Caitlin, Hannah and Tia on our Secondary School Team.
We also had Show-jumping Training in Hitchmoughs with Stephen Cox, which was very well attended by a wide range of our members and they had a lovely bright evening with some great jumping by all.
During Mid Term we enjoyed some brilliant Cross Country training for our C+, C and D+ test groups in Farrangalway with Ellen, which was a great opportunity for everyone to get some practice in before the official start of the Hunter Trial Season.
Our C+ group continued their training with Anna and we wish them the very best of luck in their test which is coming up very soon. They are currently doing their Riding and Road Safety training & RRS Test so we wish them all the best with that as well.
April is already a very busy month, Swimming training for the Minimus group continues every Saturday morning, our Wednesday night rallies continue in Breda’s and we have the Annual Easter Egg Hunt on Ponies to look forward to on Friday 19th April. Our Show jumping Team training with Bill Maguire will also be starting up after Easter, so another busy month ahead. Please book in through the website for these activities well in advance and take note of closing dates for all events.
